Gerrie Wiersberg, Wicomico County's Science Specialist presented to all staff at Pemberton's faculty in November 2018 about the Maryland Green School Program requirements. Melissa Eiler, Pemberton’s Principal at that time, listed expectations for the Green Committee. A Green School committee was formed composed of grade level representatives. Monthly meetings were held throughout the 2018-2019 school year to discuss our green goals.

Wes Meyer, Green Center partner from the Ward Museum, presented to all staff at Pemberton's faculty meeting on September 16,2019. The Green school committee leader shared a PowerPoint presentation with information on continuing our goals for the 2019-2020 school year and reviewed the Green School certification process. After that the Green school committee met three times throughout the 2019-2020 school year to review grade level goals, and share grade level documentation of our green practices. September 2019-2020

1.2.2- Environmental training for staff
28 % of the teachers from Pemberton, 8 out of 29 attended environmental education training at the Ward Museum in Salisbury, Maryland between 2018 and 2020.

Watershed Education:
September 2017-2018 and September 2019-2020 All 4 of Pemberton's kindergarten teachers attended watershed training at the Ward Museum of Art. After attending the training, the following May of each year, all kindergarten students were provided with a trip to the Ward Museum to learn about the Chesapeake Bay watershed area that surrounds our city of Salisbury.
